SOLIDARITY WITH THE AUTONOMOUS MUNICIPALITY OF SAN JUAN COPALA
The organizations, groups and adherents of the other national and international campaign
A democratic and revolutionary organizations
Dear colleagues
This month of May 2011 met 4 years 4 months Triquis that the lower region of Oaxaca decided to end life we had been full of misery, exploitation and death and rise to exercise our rights as indigenous peoples to self determination.
In January 2007 we are successfully Municipality of the first on record in Oaxaca. For nearly 3 years living in peace and quiet, we could restore our community life and our traditions and we are rid of the violence, through subordinate organizations and financed by the government, specifically the Unification Movement and Anti-Party Triqui Unidad Popular (MULT-PUP) and the Social Welfare Unit of the Region Triqui-Partido Revolucionario Institucional (PRI UBISORT "). So too did it for the reason that our @ s herman @ s @ s were murdered by these paramilitary organizations in the presence of the army or police and there was no justice. Same with the resources down to communities, only the leaders were.
With our remarkable successes, or rather, because of them, soon to use violence against our government, which has never sat with us @ sa discuss our central claim of self-determination as indigenous peoples we express as Autonomy. As in many other occasions, the government is using these two paramilitary organizations to kill more than 35 s comrades, especially through ambushes lying on roads or in places where you will find several people more than a dozen women were raped and about a dozen children (including women) were smite @ s high-caliber bullet. Concrete and more visible if it were the murder of Felicitas Martínez and Teresa Bautista, MULT-PUP paramilitaries in 2008, they acted as radio announcers "The Voice that Breaks the Silence" the Municipality . The attack on the convoy of the paramilitary group UBISORT-PRI on 27 April 2010, in which Beatriz Jyri Jaakkola Honey and killed on their way to San Juan Copala to allow humanitarian aid to it, and I was five months could not provide food the inhabitants. A few weeks later, the leader of the Autonomous Municipality, Timothy Alexander Tleriberta his wife were murdered in their home, also by the MULT-PUP, 20 May 2010.
Finally, and very weak from starvation, no water, no electricity, no telephone service and education, our @ s herman @ s @ s were forced from their homes and belongings, as this population was violently occupied paramilitary groups who warned the comrades s (women, elderly, children and young people) that if they did so would be hanged Burn @ viv @ s @ s.
In this situation where we demonstrated that there is no authority in Mexico to implement and enforce the law in this region of Oaxaca, we appeal to the Interamerican Commission on Human Rights (IACHR), an institution of the OAS that the Mexican government finally issued the request for precautionary measures MC-197-10 that the government safeguard the lives and safety of the inhabitants of the Municipality of San Juan Copala, address the causes of the conflict and provide humanitarian aid to displaced, @ s @ s.
Notwithstanding these precautionary measures during this time the Mexican government has done everything possible to keep protection and impunity to paramilitary groups. Even after the broadcast, the paramilitary and UBISORT MULTI-PUP-PRI, the companion killed Teresa Ramírez, a woman with 3 months of pregnancy was traveling with her husband and 3 children, and were subjected to a brutal ambush.
We were hoping that with the departure of Ulises Ruiz as governor of Oaxaca things to change, and we were wrong. During the government of Ulises Ruiz, the paramilitary group MULT-PUP was in government service, now that has not changed with the government of Gabino Cue.
Because this travesty that the government of Mexico and Oaxaca make to society and the international judicial bodies like the IACHR, the upcoming May 23, 2011 will begin the third Caravan "March of the Color of Blood" , which depart from Oaxaca City to Mexico City.
recognize that once the organizations, groups of below and to the left have managed to give solidarity and support people's struggles.
