Learn is an initiative that aims to give citizens tools to put the government under the magnifying glass : to audit the use of public resources and how the authorities make the decisions that affect everyone.
On the axisthe right to know, the project aims to promote the use of laws on access to public information in the country and encourage the media to challenge impunity displaying corruption.
The first edition was held in Mexico Learn the week of September 27 to October 3, 2009. This initiative will take place every year during the week of Sept. 28, when Day is celebrated International Right to Know.
Throughout the week, participating media disseminated the right of people to be informed through articles, editorials, radio and television messages, as well as work produced through open records laws . Also conducted forums, workshops, seminars and other activities that may involve all interested in making use of their right to know.
The initiative is coordinated by the National Security Archive (NSA, for short), an American nongovernmental organization based in the George Washington University.
