Disciplines: SOA, BPM, CEP and EDM and

few months ago I wrote an intro for an IT report which I consider relevant to share with the community mijao. These notes describe the disciplines that should be inserted into the culture of an agile organization efficient.

"Currently there is a huge gap between management and technology operations that must endure in many organizations. The general situation is caused in most cases by addressing problems of governance and technology affecting the performance quality and organizational learning capacity necessary to fulfill its vision, mission and strategic objectives. In this sense, an organization must take action to measure, improve and optimize their business processes.

To achieve this goal, requires the organization to exploit the full potential information technologies and adopt new approaches in order to realize their vision. The key to this vision is the understanding of the role and the role of disciplines and SOA, BPM, CEP and EDA, current trends and standards that are developing agile and effective organizations today.

Overall, SOA (Services Oriented Architecture) provides strategies for developing an information map services flexible, adaptable and interoperable, which mandates the IT architecture of the organization in a range of services reusable and independent of technology. SOA greatly increases the potential for exchange data between internal units and external to the organization, emphasizing the reuse and interoperability of software functions, integration of heterogeneous systems.

BPM (Business Process Management) provides strategic development of a flexible process framework that allows measurement, continuous improvement, optimization and serve as effective support to decision making that requires organization. With this discipline, top management may have tools for making decisions that direct their efforts and resources in order to optimize operational costs, quality and speed of deployment services, the convergence of processes, identifying products, services, service agreements and performance indicators and outcome.

EDM (Management of Organizational decisions) provides strategies for making business decisions and planning, which can be optimized from an organizational perspective. Last but not least CEP (Complex Event Processing), provides strategies for managing events.

The application of each of these disciplines in the organization far outweighs the benefits of IT related , its Adoption requires a transformation with changing paradigms exploit new operational agility achieved by improving the speed, cost and quality of operations and services of the organization. These benefits will enable the organization to adapt to new environments and respond to new opportunities .
